FOUNDERS GRANTS
support medium-large theatre in developing and culminating projects that create visionary and artistically excellent work for young people.
2025
The Grants Committees are working on 2025 criteria and dates. Please check back.
The Childrens Theatre Foundation of America (CTFA) supports and challenges theatre artists to achieve excellence in service to young people. Because our audiences are primarily made up of young people, school groups, and families, CTFA embraces the opportunity to show leadership in dismantling institutional and structural racism.
Founders Grants are restricted to 501(c)(3) IRS-certified theatres with an operating budget over $1,000,000 that have been established for at least five consecutive years, with a public record of artistic quality in creating work for young audiences and a demonstrated commitment to diversity in leadership.
The Founders committee alternates yearly grants between Concept Development (multiple awards up to $3,000) and Project Fulfillment (one award of up to $30,000).
In 2024, the Founders Grant committee is awarding a $30,000 Project Fulfillment Grant.
The Request to Submit application window is from July 29, 2024 to September 12, 2024. For the application portal, full grant guidelines, and an RTS application worksheet, go to ABOUT THE 2024 FOUNDERS PROJECT FULFILLMENT GRANT
