FOUNDERS GRANTS
Support projects unique and new to the field that will positively advance the field of theatre for young audiences nationally.


The Childrens Theatre Foundation of America challenges and supports theatre artists to achieve excellence in service to young people. A major priority of CTFA is supporting theater for youth which clearly recognizes diversity, equity, and inclusion that is important to the future of TYA. 

Founders Grants are intended for established and IRS certified not-for-profit theatres with annual budgets over $1M and teams of theatre artists and collaborators working independently in the United States. The Founders committee alternates yearly grants between Concept Development (multiple awards of up to $3,000) and Project Fulfillment (one award, up to $30,000).

2023 is a Concept Development Grant year. Applications have CLOSED. For more information about this year’s grant, please click here for details.

The Childrens Theatre Foundation of America is committed to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
